This is a free event to attend, play and win, so it’s well worth a try when visiting us in Bovey Tracey this Summer. The best submissions will be in with a chance to win a money-can’t-buy opportunity to have their design cast into a real glass marble by Teign Valley Glass Studio!
About the event
To be in with a chance to get your design made into a real-life marble, all you have to do is come along this summer and pick up a competition form. Then, make your design with whatever materials you want before submitting it online or in person. The competition closes at the end of August, and the best designs will be shortlisted and put to a public vote on our Facebook account in early September. Multiple winners will be drawn (based on age categories) to receive their own special marble at the end of 2024 to keep as a unique keepsake.
Children of all ages can enter, and we invite you to use different mediums to create your fine art project: last year’s entries saw various materials used in submissions, with the finished design considered when deciding how best to represent the final winners designs in glass.

Where to collect
This competition is only open to those who visit in person between the competition entry dates (no forms are available to download on our website as the competition is exclusively open to our site visitors in Bovey Tracey this Summer).
*Please note that no colouring facilities are available in the shop. These forms are available for those who want to complete them at home.

The midnight deadline on August 31st 2024 will mark the start of the shortlisting process, when we will gather our best marble experts at House of Marbles HQ, and begin the difficult task of choosing the best designs. The best marble designs will go to a public vote in September with a chance to win the money-can’t-buy opportunity to have their design cast into a real glass Marble! Entries will be split into age groups to give younger entrants a fair chance to win, with shortlisting taking place from 1st September.
From 9th September we’ll ask you to head over to our Facebook page, to vote on the designs of our finalists. This is your chance to show your support and share the thrill with your loved ones.
Social voting will close at midnight on 3rd October with the final winners to be announced on 4th October, so be sure to follow us on Social Media (on Facebook or Instagram) to keep up to date with how your entry performed.
Over the coming months, the selections from the public vote and one House of Marbles choice will be made. Finally, the winners will receive their very own marble once we are satisfied that our representation has been recreated (to the best of our ability) in glass.
