Glass Bird Workshop | April Sessions

April 3 - April 28

£100.00

Create Your Own Glass Bird

A Cherished Workshop Returns

Discover the enchanting realm of glassmaking at House of Marbles with our acclaimed Glass Bird workshop. Building on last year’s success, we’ve expanded this year’s workshop to an entire one-hour session, allowing a duo (including children aged 12+ accompanied by an adult) or an individual to fully immerse in the experience. For £100, participants will have the opportunity to craft their own glass bird, selecting from designs such as the classic robin, charming wren, or colourful blue tit. This workshop offers a unique blend of creativity and skill, promising an engaging and memorable experience in glass crafting.

🔥 Why This Workshop is Special

This workshop is the perfect gateway into hot glass sculpting, providing a hands-on experience tailored for beginners. With no prior experience required, it’s an opportunity that promises to be a delightful adventure!

You’ll begin with the basics, learning to shape the hot glass and getting a feel for its unique properties. As your confidence grows, you’ll progress from crafting a simple, clear glass bird to more detailed and colourful designs.

By the session’s end, you’ll have the clear glass version to take home and a more finished piece that showcases your newfound skills. This hands-on approach ensures that you leave with beautiful glass art and a deep appreciation for the craft.

After the workshop, your creation will require 2-3 days to cool down in the annealer. You have the option of home delivery* or collecting it at your convenience.

💝 A Heartfelt Gift Experience

Searching for a gift that stands out? Our glass workshops provide a unique, hands-on experience that’s cherished long after the session ends. Perfect for any occasion, it’s a thoughtful way to show someone they’re as special as the artwork they’ll create. Here’s how to gift any of our workshops:

1. When you sign up for a course, you can register it under the name of the person you’re gifting it to.
2. Important: Make sure to use your own email address. This way, you’ll receive the course ticket via email with their name on it.
3. You’ll receive a PDF that you can print out, perfect for enclosing in a card to create that one-of-a-kind surprise!

🥽 Safety Attire Quick Guide

Closed-Toe Shoes: Protect your feet with sturdy footwear. Sandals or open-toed shoes are a no-go.
Natural Fibre Clothing: Opt for cotton attire, which is less flammable than synthetics, for your safety and comfort.
Protective Clothing: Protective Clothing: Wear long pants like jeans for leg protection. Avoid flowy attire, especially skirts. A fitted, long-sleeved t-shirt is best for heat protection, but short sleeves are okay too.
Hair Ties: Long hair should be tied back to avoid interference with your face or the flames.
Minimal Jewellery: Remove necklaces, bracelets and rings that could snag or conduct heat.
Safety Glasses: Provided by us, these are essential to shield your eyes from flying glass and bright lights.
Adhering to these guidelines will ensure you dress appropriately for a safe and enjoyable glass crafting experience. Let’s create something beautiful safely!
