This one-hour session, priced at £110, is our new duo offer for 2024, inviting you and a friend – or if you prefer, just yourself – to the artful experience of glass vase crafting. You and a partner or friend will share the delight of shaping a striking glass vase, with the option to style the lip in an open wave design or to modify it to your taste. The colours and patterns are up to you, making each creation genuinely one-of-a-kind. This workshop is a fantastic opportunity to bond over the art of glass crafting. It is suitable for both glassmaking beginners and those with some experience.
This workshop is more than just crafting; it’s a shared journey into the vibrant world of glass art. With the guidance of our skilled glassmaker, you and your partner will:
Shape Your Vase: Experience the thrill of glass blowing, as you learn to manipulate and form glass into a beautiful vase. Watch in wonder as the glass expands, taking shape with your chosen patterns embedded within.
Customise Your Design: Drawing inspiration from our stunning examples, you can replicate the wave-like lip or adapt it to your personal style. Embrace the heat of the kiln to soften the glass, then witness the magic of gravity as the semi-solid material stretches to create the elegant stem of your vase.
Crafting Together Made Possible: This workshop invites you to experience the joy of creating with someone special. It’s a memorable and cooperative endeavour that allows you both to be actively involved in shaping a piece that’s truly special and personal.
By the end of the session, you’ll appreciate how light, colour and form intertwine to transform glass into an extraordinary work of art. The real highlight? The vase you’ve crafted together is yours to take home. After it has properly cooled down, which takes about 2-3 days, you’ll have the choice of home delivery* or picking it up at your convenience, ready to showcase your beautiful creation.
Closed-Toe Shoes: Protect your feet with sturdy footwear. Sandals or open-toed shoes are a no-go.
Natural Fibre Clothing: Opt for cotton attire, which is less flammable than synthetics, for your safety and comfort.
Protective Clothing: Protective Clothing: Wear long pants like jeans for leg protection. Avoid flowy attire, especially skirts. A fitted, long-sleeved t-shirt is best for heat protection, but short sleeves are okay too.
Hair Ties: Long hair should be tied back to avoid interference with your face or the flames.
Minimal Jewellery: Forgo necklaces, bracelets and rings that could snag or conduct heat.
Safety Glasses: Provided by us, these are essential to shield your eyes from flying glass and bright lights.
Adhering to these guidelines will ensure you dress appropriately for a safe and enjoyable glass crafting experience. Let’s create something beautiful safely!
