2-Hour Tailored Glass Workshop | June Sessions

June 1 - June 29

Glass Crafting Foundations: A 2-Hour Beginner’s Journey

Discover the Art of Glass – From Solid Shapes to Blown Beauty

Embark on your first step into glassmaking with our 2-hour workshop, specially designed for beginners or returning visitors. At £250 for two participants (including children aged 12+ accompanied by an adult), or a full time slot dedicated just for one, this session offers a practical introduction to the captivating world of glass art. You’ll split your time between working with solid glass to create shapes like paperweights, birds or apples and venturing into blown glass. Alongside, you’ll explore pattern and colour manipulation on your creations, while learning about the crucial tools, processes and how to control temperature. This workshop serves as your gateway to both understanding and appreciating the intricate art of glassmaking. It’s designed for you to book repeatedly, allowing for continuous development and deeper exploration into glass art.

🔥 Why This Workshop is Tailored

This session combines solid and blown glass work, providing a comprehensive introduction to glass artistry in two hours. Beginning with colour work, you’ll explore incorporating stripes and patterns into your glass. Additionally, you can visit our gallery for inspiration, shaping a workshop experience tailored to you right from the start.

Under our expert guidance, you will shape your pieces, from solid forms to intricate blown objects. The workshop’s flexibility allows you to craft a larger, detailed piece or multiple smaller items. This choice, aligned with your skill level and workshop duration, ensures your creations are beautiful and achievable.

Offering personalised instruction within a supportive environment, this workshop is perfect for beginners embarking on their glassmaking journey as well as for returning participants ready to pick up where they left off, steering their learning in a direction entirely of their choosing. By the end, not only will you have a deeper appreciation for glass art, but you’ll also take home handmade pieces as proof of your evolving skills. Consider this session your opportunity to develop at your own pace and focus on the areas of glassmaking that interests you the most.

After the workshop, your creations will need 2-3 days to properly cool down in the annealer. While home delivery is an option*, we strongly recommend collection in person to guarantee that your item arrives without any damage from transit.

🥽 Safety Attire Quick Guide

Closed-Toe Shoes: Protect your feet with sturdy footwear. Sandals or open-toed shoes are a no-go.
Natural Fibre Clothing: Opt for cotton attire, which is less flammable than synthetics, for your safety and comfort.
Protective Clothing: Protective Clothing: Wear long pants like jeans for leg protection. Avoid flowy attire, especially skirts. A fitted, long-sleeved t-shirt is best for heat protection, but short sleeves are okay too.
Hair Ties: Long hair should be tied back to avoid interference with your face or the flames.
Minimal Jewellery: Remove necklaces, bracelets and rings that could snag or conduct heat.
