Join us for this exciting opportunity to get creative and make your own wire flowers. Learn the techniques of hand-making wire flowers from scratch as Jane tutors you in the process of weaving wire to produce fuchsias, daffodils and seed heads. With the goal of taking home a minimum of three beautiful flowers, you will be given ample time to immerse yourself in the process and work at a pace that suits you.
This is a 3-hour workshop, giving plenty of time for you to navigate creating each sculpture from an initial frame to building it up into a three-dimensional object. You’ll have ample time per flower, making the workshop suitable for those with no experience, and you can proceed at a pace that suits you This workshop is designed to transform you from a beginner to a proud creator, as you’ll leave with a collection of beautifully crafted flowers to enhance your home décor.
Light refreshments will be provided, including tea, coffee and water. We’ll also celebrate your successful creations with a toast of Prosecco or Nozecco (non-alcoholic) a bit later in the session. For our morning session we will also be offering an alternative of a Bellini should you prefer.
For those of us with a love for artistic flair in every corner of our homes, and perhaps a slightly forgetful nature when it comes to watering plants, wire sculptures offer a whimsical and stylish solution. Come and discover the joy of creating beautiful wire blooms that will make your home shine.
Everything you need to make your wire flowers (like the ones pictured) will be included in this session, with:
~ All materials and tools required are provided on the day.
~ Instructions on creating different flower styles from wire and attaching them to your stem.
~ A chance to learn more about wire art.
~ Complimentary Prosecco to toast your success.
~ The know-how to go away and create more wire flowers again to build a bouquet.
~ You’ll get the chance to make one of each flower type. Depending on your skill and speed of leaning, you are welcome to make a fourth flower.
Jane’s beautiful wire works reflect her time living in Devon. She uses the River Exe, its marshes, and local wildlife as her inspiration! Each piece Jane creates is entirely unique. Each sculpture starts with a single strand of wire to sketch the outline, interlaced by hand to create the three-dimensional finished article. Her work can sometimes be abstract, but it is always recognisable.
