Nikki Robinson
Journey to Glass Artistry
Nikki Robinson has been a professional glass artist since 2019, with a lifelong fascination for the beauty of glass. Moving to Somerset in 2022 to pursue her dream, she now creates in her Ilminster studio, drawing inspiration from Somerset’s vibrant colours and landscapes. Nikki’s journey, transitioning from a Civil Service manager to a full-time glass artist, was fueled by her passion for glass, reignited by a glass-fusing course that captivated her imagination.
Artistic Development & Range
Nikki’s diverse artistic range encompasses large fused glass panels and delicate jewellery. She discovered her true calling in glass art while enrolling in a glass and ceramics BA at the University of Wolverhampton. Her work at Glassification, a workshop she took over in 2022, focuses on creating unique, bespoke, and practical artworks. She continues the legacy of Liz Sparks, crafting bespoke glass splashbacks that add a ‘Wow!’ factor to any kitchen.
Creative Expansion & Public Engagement
Nikki’s work constantly evolves, with new designs regularly added to her collection. While her site primarily showcases glass panels for kitchens and bathrooms, she also creates sculptures, bowls, vases, platters, and jewellery, all available for commission. Visitors can see her work at the on-site gallery in the Courtyard Gallery CafĂ©. Open for discussions and viewings, Nikki invites guests to her studio to explore her creations, discuss potential commissions, or share her love for glass art.
