Accessibility at House of Marbles
Parking
Reserved disabled parking is situated at the front of the building by the main entrance. There is also additional disabled parking by our second entrance and coach passenger drop-off point at the side of the building.
Lines in our Front Car-Park have recently been re-painted (as of May 2024) so Disabled and other spaces are clearly marked.
Wheelchair Access
We have one wheelchair which can be used by visitors, and the restaurant, glass works, toilets, shop and museums are all accessible for wheelchairs. The disabled and baby-change facilities on site have recently been refurbished as of May 2024.
Unfortunately, our upstairs shop is not accessible by wheelchair users, however our staff are always on hand to assist you with any requirements you have during your visit.
Please contact us if you would like to make any enquiries relating to your visit.
Dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome in all areas of our site.
Non-assistance dogs (i.e. your four-legged best friend) are welcome in all parts of the site except the main restaurant; However, we allow dogs into the designated restaurant conservatory area (so you can still take refreshments inside on wet-weather days!).
You can also enjoy our scrumptious food & drink with your four-legged friends in our games garden (weather permitting).
Dog drinking bowls are provided outside of the shop and in the games garden area.
Lavatories
Our toilet facilities, including a disabled lavatory, are located opposite the restaurant. The disabled and baby-change facilities on site have recently been refurbished as of May 2024.
Please ask a member of staff to help you locate them if you’re unsure.
Additional Help
Our staff will be happy to provide additional help if required – please do not hesitate to ask for assistance if you need it.
Please note: While some of our Brass Rubbing Trail takes visitors outside, we have intentionally made it accessible for all, with all plaques being available on the ground floor if needed. There is only one plaque in our upstairs shop, but if you’re unable to access it, we can help you find our secret plaque (just ask our shop staff where this can be found).
Carer Friendly Communities
We are proud to be ‘Carer Friendly’ in partnership with Devon Carers, an NHS service supporting unpaid carers in Devon. We are pleased to offer 10% off coffee and a cake in our restaurant to all carers with a valid Devon Carer’s ID Card. This is in the hope to create a friendly space for carers in our local area to come and have a peaceful break away, as our outdoor seating area particularly can be a calm and serene area to while away an hour or two.
Recognised Venue
We have been recognised by a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence Awards in consecutive years from 2014 - 2019, and the new Traveller’s Choice Award in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023!
