It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and here at House of Marbles, there is so much going on that you can’t afford to miss it! To help our marbleous supporters plan their festive calendars, here is a roundup of what’s on the horizon:
SANTA PAWS
Our pawsome Grotto for your furry family members is back again, after a successful 1st year in 2022. What a great way to include your four-legged fur-baby(s) in the festivities!
Dates:
Sat 18th – Sun 19th December 2023
Price:
£12.99 per pet, owners go free
What’s Included:
Entry to the Christmas Grotto, culminating in a Meeting with Santa, where you have the opportunity to take pictures. Every pet gets a goody bag, including a woofing good gift from the big man himself! You will also find a 10% discount for use in the shop in the goody bag.
There is also an adult’s quiz (with entry into a prize draw) and one free entry into a draw where you could win a Glass Paw-Casting for your pet, created in Teign Valley Glass.

SANTA’S GROTTO
Santa’s Grotto at House of Marbles is an annual favourite and returns with a brand new surprise theme! Our Elves will show you through into the Grotto, with some activities along the way, before you meet Father Christmas. There will be time to discuss what your good little boys and girls would like for Christmas. Santa will often confirm arrangements for Christmas Eve (whether he’ll arrive by the fireplace or magic key, and remember to leave out the cookies!).
Dates:
Every weekend from Sat the 25th of November until Sun the 17th of December, PLUS weekdays during the school holidays on Mon 18th – Fri the 22nd of December*
Price:
£12.99 per child, adults go free!
What’s Included:
Entry to the Grotto with a surprise new theme (with activities along the way), a meeting with Santa, and a gift and balloon! The Goody bag also includes a 10% discount for the shop.
There is also an adult quiz (with entry into a prize draw) and a child’s activity.
*There will be no Santa’s Grotto on the 23rd and 24th of December as Santa will be too busy getting ready!

CHRISTMAS DINING
The Old Pottery Restaurant has pulled out all the stops this year with the return of their ever-favourite Christmas Menu. By day, enjoy a 2-Course Menu for just £22 or 3-Courses for £27. By night, the restaurant will transform into the Pottery By Night with its own unique feel, and you will find a 3-course Dinner Menu with Prosecco for £42pp.

BAUBLE-MAKING WORKSHOPS
Teign Valley Glass Studios is bringing back their ever-popular Glass Bauble-Making Sessions, the perfect mix of Christmas Craft and beautiful Keepsakes you will treasure for years to come.
Dates:
Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays throughout December PLUS Thursday Evenings (during the Late Night Shopping and Glittering Glass Exhibition Openings)
Additional sessions will also run during the school holidays from Monday, the 18th, to Friday, the 22nd of December.

30 minutes, which includes instruction from our expert craftspeople and making time.

CHRISTMAS WREATH-MAKING WORKSHOPS
The Emporium at House of Marbles will once again host their festive wreath-making sessions, which offer the opportunity to craft a crucial part of your decorations from scratch. With this session, the pre-soaked moss bases will save you time (so you have more time to prepare the part you see) while also aiding in preserving your creation for the whole season.

Thursday, the 30th of November, the 7th of December. 14th December* and 21st December*

What’s Included:
Approximately 1.5-2 hours of making time with a glass of Prosecco or Bucks Fizz.
Attendees will also receive a £10 dining voucher for use in The Old Pottery Restaurant (available until the end of Feb 2024, minimum £25 spend applies).
*Later dates will still enable you to create a fabulous wreath for your door OR memory wreath in honour of a loved one, as well as instruction on turning your creation into a stunning table centrepiece that’ll wow your dinner guests!

BETWIXTMAS HAND-CASTINGS
Between Christmas and New Year, Teign Valley Glass Studios will be running some extra-special drop-in Hand-Casting Sessions, where you can get your child’s Hand Cast in Glass to preserve a particular moment in time forever! Adult Hand-castings are also available*.

27th – the 30th of December 2023, from 2 – 4.30 pm only

What’s Included:
A 20-minute session per casting and the chance to watch the molten glass being poured into your mould.

Magic Postbox
Pop in any time from the start of our Grotto (the 18th of November 2023) each year, and you can post a special letter to Santa. Leave your return address, and you’ll receive a response from the North Pole!

The Giant Christmas Tree (upstairs in The Emporium)
Our 20ft Christmas Tree has a unique new theme each year and is not to be missed! Step into the upstairs shop, and you will find it on the viewing podium for Snooki – The Largest Marble Run we have on-site here!

The Wishing Tree
Stop by and make a special wish for you or a loved one of any hopes and dreams for the festive season or forthcoming year. The card baubles provided this year have the shortlisted designs from our Design-A-Marble Competition run earlier in 2023.

Situated in the Games Garden as you exit the Christmas Grotto*- is a must! Stop by with a friend or family member to get a snap at this face-in-the-hole board, which will make you look like one of Santa’s Little Elves.
*You will also be able to find the Elfie Selfie Station by going out of the external door from the Glassworks or Restaurant.
