If you come down to House of Marbles for our late night shopping evenings this December, you’ll find an array of interesting festive crafts taking place. One such event is our Papercraft & Gift Wrapping Masterclass, run by the genius behind local Bovey Tracey business – Grace & Favour.
Rachael Rowe, owner of the creative hub situated at the ‘Gateway to Dartmoor’ invited us in for a peek behind the scenes so that we could tell our customers more about the one-night-only collaboration.
The event, set to take place on Thursday 8th December 2022, is sure to be a night to remember, with a variety of exciting craft know-how techniques that attendees will be able to draw on for years to come. From making use of the offcuts of that beautiful wrapping paper that will adorn your tree as a decoration for the next decade or so, to wowing your friends and family when you want to give that extra special something. You certainly won’t regret booking a space! If for no other reason, simply booking to find our how to wrap those awkwardly-shaped presents that never seem to look good, this really is a delightfully festive opportunity to become the hostess-with-the-mostess (or host-with-the-most) while barely breaking a sweat!
The crafting event includes learning how to:
Make 3 Types Of Xmas Decoration
A Festive Paper Garland
Origami Paper Star Decorations
Huge Honeycomb Baubles
AND 3 Gift Wrapping Tricks Of The Trade*
Map wrapping with mini wreath decoration – the ultimate in sustainable, environmentally-friendly AND beautiful gifting solutions
THE Go-To Wrapping Solution For ANYTHING – how to make perfectly sized paper gift bags from ordinary gift wrap
Kimono Wrapping – Ultimate under-the-Christmas-tree gift style with zero bows or ribbons!!
Watch the video of Rachael telling us about the paper crafting projects included in this session HERE.
Grace & Favour owner Rachael explains “We hope there really will be something for everyone in this session and that the skills learned can be used not just this year but again and again, even becoming new Christmas Traditions. We are all about sustainability and it has been a delight to put together this mini masterclass so that everyone can take home crafting some expertise that will help them to master Christmas with ease! The folding star decorations (for example) can be made using offcuts of wrapping paper. Those bits that normally go in the bin can now have a place on your tree and hopefully in your heart.”
Well, we don’t need convincing!

*A LITTLE NOTE ABOUT THE GIFT WRAPPING WORKSHOP:
You may either bring 3 gifts from home to wrap in the workshop OR if you aren’t that organised then never fear!
You can also purchase items on the day to wrap from House of Marbles. Rachael can also help you to create parcels with boxes that can be swapped out for
other items when you get home… We recommend buying on the day & then replicating skills learnt for the items you have at home so you can be sure to
remember how to do it again next year!!
