Brass Rubbing Trail
If you’re looking for something different to do, you might be interested to hear that we have a permanent Brass Rubbing Trail that’s great for all weather!
The trail includes a booklet & crayons which can be kept as a keepsake of your visit. Open to all ages: We most recommend it for ages 4 – 10 (& younger children with supervision).
It was installed in 2018 as a heritage project for the site, intended to last for many years. We love traditional pastimes here! The Brass Rubbing Trail will help you learn about the House of Marbles and all the fun things on site, as well as discover the various nooks and crannies that can be found throughout the premises.

Teign Valley Glass Studio
Open 7 days a week, Teign Valley Glass Studio brings the ancient art of glassmaking to life. As a living, working studio, glassmaking takes place every day, offering visitors a glimpse into this captivating craft.
Watch our skilled artisans gather molten glass straight from the furnace and shape it into beautiful pieces. From the viewing balcony, you can enjoy an up-close look at the entire process and feel the heat of the 1300°C glass.
If you want to try your hand at glassmaking, why not join one of our glass workshops? Open to participants aged 12 and over (accompanied by an adult), these sessions can be booked online before your visit or in person at the studio.
The Old Pottery Restaurant
Nestled within the historic Old Pottery buildings, our restaurant offers a welcoming spot to refuel, relax and enjoy a comforting meal or slice of homemade cake. Savour hearty breakfasts, fresh seasonal salads and classics like Fish & Chips. Or indulge in a traditional Devonshire afternoon tea with homemade scones and cakes.

Our Marble Museum showcases an extraordinary collection of marbles spanning the ages – from early examples crafted from clay and stone to some of the oldest known glass marbles, each with its own fascinating story. The Games Museum is a unique collection that showcases classic games and toys from decades past, sparking fond memories for older generations and curiosity in younger ones.
If you have ever visited us, you may have wondered why we have a Pottery Museum. The reason is not just simple, but also fascinating – the buildings the House of Marbles occupies are known as ‘The Old Pottery’ because they are located on a unique and rich historical site of pottery-making.
Our Glass Museum provides a concise overview of the glass-making process, featuring a diverse collection of fascinating pieces. Discovering something new while potentially gaining a new interest is equally important as passing on the Victorian-making skills that Teign Valley Glass still aims to do today, to keep those skills alive for years to come.
Marble Runs
Marble Runs as you’ve never seen before! You can set our unique and interactive marble runs going yourself at any time. We have an impressive collection of bespoke marble runs, handcrafted exclusively for us by renowned Swiss artisan Alex Schmid.
The marble run you will want to see is our giant-sized ‘Snooki 2000’ – possibly the largest permanent marble run structure in the UK, or even the world! With four great designs to be found in our marble museum, you can explore the thrilling world of motion and creativity behind the marble runs.
