Places to Eat
Of course we hope that you will dine with us for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner here at House of Marbles’ very own fully licensed daytime & evening restaurant, but here is our full list of recommended local eateries if you are staying in the immediate area.

The Old Pottery Daytime Restaurant
Chances are, if you are here for a visit at House of Marbles you will want to stop off for some refreshments in our daytime fully licensed restaurant. …We always recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.
The Pottery By Night Evening Restaurant
Our daytime restaurant is now open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings for a delicious variety of dishes which highlight the skills of our expert kitchen team.

Ullacombe Farm in Bovey Tracey
The café here has a wonderful, relaxed daytime eating area which is great for afternoon teas and Sunday lunches.

The Great Western & Smith’s Brasserie at Bovey Castle
There are two restaurants at Bovey Castle, each with their own unique style. The Great Western has 3 AA rosettes and Smith’s Brasserie is slightly a more casual dining area. Also, a great place to stay, with a spa and golf course on site. It is also dog friendly.
The Rock Inn at Haytor Vale
Great for if you have spent the day exploring Dartmoor and want a delicious hearty meal for lunch or dinner as it is very close to Haytor Rock.
Home Farm Café in Bovey Tracey
Another great daytime restaurant for lunch or afternoon tea. Also open on weekend evenings for 3 course dinners which are delicious! Booking in advance recommended.

Riverford Field Kitchen in Buckfastleigh
This is an experience! The food served is always seasonal and everyone gets the same selection so there are no menus to choose from. You always know you are getting fresh local food here.

If you don’t mind travelling further afield then these places are other eateries which come highly recommended:
- Radius 7 – A wonderful restaurant on the outskirts of Dartmoor with a great reputation.
- Ode – A group of 3 restaurants in the seaside village of Shaldon with sustainable values.
- Angels Tearooms – For afternoon teas served in vintage crockery. Babbacombe, Torquay.
- On The Rocks – For great food and great views. Torquay seafront.
- The Royal Seven Stars Hotel – The best cuisine in this quirky town which is well worth a visit.
- …And if budget is no problem then Gidleigh Park is a wonderful Michelin starred restaurant in the local vicinity.
