During the workshop, you’ll have the chance to make three distinct glass items – a Glass Bird, a Paperweight and a Bauble – each customisable with colours and designs of your choosing. Not only will you leave with three unique and beautiful pieces, but you’ll also have had the opportunity to learn a variety of glass crafting techniques in one exciting session. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned glassmaker, this workshop is the perfect way to spend an hour.
This workshop is not just about creating things; it’s an adventure into the thrilling world of glass art in a safe and supportive setting. With personal guidance from our skilled glassmaker, your experience will be customised to your comfort level, allowing you to be as hands-on as you like. Here’s what you can look forward to in this workshop:
Create a Glass Bird: You’ll learn to pull and sculpt glass to shape a bird. Choose a Red Robin, Blue Tit or Wren, and use different colours and shapes to make it special. This part helps you practice shaping hot glass.
Make a Paperweight: This is where your imagination comes into play. You’ll have fun twisting and going for it when you mix colours into hot glass by twisting your tongs and create a unique design with trapped air bubbles. The paperweight you make will be stunning and one of a kind guaranteed!
Blow a Bauble: Have a go at glass blowing to make a bauble, and understand the control required to shape your bauble well. This part teaches you how to blow and shape hot glass into a lovely decoration all year round or at Christmas.
Throughout the workshop, you’ll discover the stunning effects of colours and patterns on glass. Plus, each piece you create is yours to keep. After a cooling period of about 2-3 days, you have the option of home delivery* or collecting your creation at your convenience.
Closed-Toe Shoes: Protect your feet with sturdy footwear. Sandals or open-toed shoes are a no-go.
Natural Fibre Clothing: Opt for cotton attire, which is less flammable than synthetics, for your safety and comfort.
Protective Clothing: Protective Clothing: Wear long pants like jeans for leg protection. Avoid flowy attire, especially skirts. A fitted, long-sleeved t-shirt is best for heat protection, but short sleeves are okay too.
Hair Ties: Long hair should be tied back to avoid interference with your face or the flames.
Minimal Jewellery: Forgo necklaces, bracelets and rings that could snag or conduct heat.
Safety Glasses: Provided by us, these are essential to shield your eyes from flying glass and bright lights.

When Is Best? Choose your date and time slot wisely. Make sure it’s a day that you can attend, as once the course is locked in, we’ll be planning for your arrival ahead of schedule.
Buying A Ticket: You need to buy one ticket to cover one person in this workshop. Children are permitted 12+ if accompanied by a non-paying adult. Once you have selected your tickets, scroll down and click the ‘Get Tickets‘ button to add to your cart.
Sharing: This workshop offers a 1:1 ratio only. Each session is designed for one participant, providing ample time to create all three items.
Arrival Time: Aim to arrive a little earlier than your booked slot to ensure a relaxed start to your glass-making experience.
Travel Plans: If travelling from afar, check local transport or plan your driving route. There is plenty of free parking on site.
